DIVISION 1

40 - M HUGHES

39 - L SALTER

39 - P SAVAGE

35 - P O'CONNOR

Your correspondent managed to hold off fierce challenges from Lewis and Sav in a low scoring Monthly Stableford.

40 - M SCHOLES

39 - I BOWERS

38 - C CHANI

38 - D PIERCE

Dom's still after a new driver and while he searches for the right model he continues to collect the prize money that will pay for his weapon of choice. We caught up with Dom while he was stroking the shaft of his Big Bertha in American Golf while he considered a trade-in and he told us that he had used a yellow Top-Flite on Saturday and this had added an extra 6-7 feet on his drives along with added visibility.

DIVISION 3

42 - K COOTHOOPERMAL

41 - M WILTON

39 - D CLARKE

38 - P LODGE

37 - B GORDON

There's no I in team but there's a Co-Op in Coothoopermal and Kish was 'good with food' as he devoured the opposition this weekend. Outside Linley & Simpson's estate agents on Street Lane, Kish smiled as he recalled his 8 for 6 for 1 point on the second hole, which proved to be the difference between him and Mally who had 41 points which would have been enough to win both of the other divisions.

SUNDAY 26th FEBRUARY - BOGEY CSS +5

DIVISION 1

+5 - P REEVES

+3 - R ROWSBY

+2 - G SMITH

Peter showed a clean pair of heels as he sprinted clear of his rivals and secured top spot in Division 1 of Sunday's Bogey.

DIVISION 2

+7 - P EDDISON

+4 - P LODGE

+3 - A BEATTIE

The Italians have a word for it, to us it's a thunderbolt and Paul delivered it with gusto yesterday as he swept aside all comers with a magnificent display. Speaking to us whilst he was using Roundhay's deluxe shoe cleaner outside the changing rooms, Paul told us that he had been preparing for a tilt at the February Bogey and he was very pleased that the time spent on the range had paid off.

MIDWEEK STABLEFORD (NQ)

42 - D ARBER

35 - A JACKSON

33 - K SEKHON

Dom doubled-up this week by adding the Weekly Stableford crown to his haul. We caught up with Dom while he was out shopping for a new mantel piece as his current model could no longer cope with the silverware that's been rolling in. Stroking his chin, Dom was undecided about whether tom plump for the pine model or the black marble effect beauty.

2s THIS WEEKEND:

WHAT A GRAY DAY!

SATURDAY 18th FEBRUARY - 4 BALL STABLEFORD

44 pts A GRAY & M HUGHES

43 pts I BOWERS & M BOWERS

39 pts P LODGE & G GYI

The old adage 'Beware the injured golfer' was never more true than on Saturday when Andy Gray fought through the pain barrier to drag himself and his partner over the winning line.Earlier in the week, Andy had suffered a serious leg injury that had threatened his regular visit to the boutiques on Street Lane.

When we caught up with Andy he told us he had just enjoyed a sports massage but the swelling hadn't gone down, in fact it seemed worse.

SUNDAY 19th FEBRUARY - MONTHLY MEDAL

DIVISION 1

69 J O'CONNOR

70 G SMITH

71 R ROWSBY

74 P SAVAGE

Gentleman Jim braved the mini ice age on Sunday and managed to hold off Gary Smith's challenge in a high scoring tussle.

We caught up with Jim between letter boxes in Primley Park and he took a moment to recall the 3 pars on the bounce that helped him to clinch first place. Jim couldn't stay for long though, "I've got a triple shift to do today" he chirruped and made his way up the next drive.

DIVISION 2

66 D ARBER

66 M HANNAN

67 G ARBER

68 S SAMPSON

68 D PIERCE

Mick Hannan and the word sandwich often appear in the same sentence and this weekend was no exception, as Mick found himself sandwiched between the Arber brothers.

On Sunday Dom took the spoils with the best nett score of the day. We caught up with him at Meanwood Valley Urban Farm when he was in reflective mood, admiring the spring lambs.

Dom told us he's looking out for a new driver so if you're looking to do a deal...

DIVISION 3

70 P LODGE

77 S JONES

77 N BERESFORD

It was a swift return to the winner's enclosure as P Lodge took the money and 10 Order of Merit points with this win in Division 3.

We caught up with Phil just after he'd done his Lotto numbers on Street Lane and he was feeling quite confident about adding to his £17 prize money; "I'm feeling quite confident he told us". Well done Phil.

SATURDAY 4th FEBRUARY - 4 BALL MEDAL

AIN'T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH AS JOHN & PAUL HOLD OFF RINGO & GEORGE

63 -  J MARSHALL & P EDDISON  (Back 6)

63 - S MOUNTAIN & B HOULDING (Back 9)

63 - G GYI & S HAIGH

The minute Granville's back was turned his friends took the opportunity to nip into the winners' enclosure.
So soon after Granners had bought his 'ticket to ride', John  & Paul said "Get Back" to their chasers on Saturday and were able to 'twist & shout' with glee when John holed from 17 feet on th...

BOWER POWER!!

1st   52.4  P BOWERS / I BOWERS / S NORMAN

2nd  53.1  P O'CONNOR / A GRAY / R DARLISON / M HUGHES

The eagle-eyed will notice that the winning team fielded only 3 players in this 4 person scramble.
Despite this handicap, Dad Paul used all his guile to steer his team to victory.

When we caught up with Paul outside the post office on Street Lane, he told us that he'd just banked his sweep money and was busy making plans for this coming Saturday's...

CAPTAIN FANTASTIC

126 - P O'CONNOR, R DARLISON, A GRAY, M HUGHES

130 - N DANBY, S MOUNTAIN, M SCHOLES, B HOULDING

Paddy's team nursed the yellow ball around the course to ensure they overcame bookies favourites, The Bowers Boys, and secure a first win of 2012.

It was always going to be an uphill task for Mountain's men who just couldn't find enough net pars on the way home.

When we caught up with Paddy he was waiting for a lift ...
